Easter Inspiration Painting

I woke up to a most beautiful day and went straight outside and started painting. The painting morphed several times into different subjects until it finally showed its true colors. I knew it was right when my heart felt light and happy but also realized the sadness involved. When I could sense God weeping for his only Son that he sacrificed for us so that we could have eternal life.

After I was happy with the background I laid this little twig against the painting. I liked the way it looked but didn’t want to attach it to the painting. The little twig is a dogwood tree that I tried to transplant from my son’s yard to mine. It was never happy after being moved. My husband thought I had told him to chop it down and after he did I felt so sad about the little dogwood. So I am thrilled that I was able to use in my painting after all. I laid it against the painting and painted the shadow of it.

It was so beautiful outside, I was inspired by all of the sun, greenery and bits of pink flowers that I could see.

These are close ups of the painting since they are a little difficult to see in the large picture.

The canvas which is actually a 27 x 23 piece of plywood. I leaned it against an old lawn chair because I knew I would be using a waterbottle to spray it as I worked on it.

This may be available in my Etsy Shop later. I hope you all have/had a fabulous, grateful and thought provoking Easter Sunday.

Noah Didn’t Fly Away

Matthew 24:37
Noah wasn’t carried away to safety. He was told to prepare for the coming anarchy and he did. He gathered supplies, food, animals, seeds and built a shelter.

Noah was kept safe in the middle of chaos because he had the peace of God that comes from an ongoing personal relationship. Faith is not the mental assent of the mind nor a confession of the mouth but an obedience to the revealed will of God just as the Bible is not a book of principles to be practiced to find favor with God but a book of promises to be believed. Some promises are for some people, other promises for other people. Not all promises are for everyone. The only one that is for everyone is the promise of salvation.

A new earth was then created.

Matthew 24:29

Thessalonians 4:13

Noah had a  spiritual peace from God. Because of Jesus Christ our rest is in our hearts. Not in a specific day or time of worship. We have no way of earning our way to heaven or threat of being left behind. There is no left behind.

Scripture says that in the blink of an eye a new heaven and a new earth will be created.

Do you think the people of Egypt, Syria, Libya, Rwanda, Bosnia and Serbia are not experiencing tribulation? And worst of all the people who suffered in the Holocaust? Truly nothing could be worse than what they went through.

II Thessalonians 2:2

II Thessalonians 2:1-4

No one will escape ahead of time, so as Noah did you should prepare. Physically and most importantly spiritually.

But don’t trust me, read the Word for yourself.

Life Without Limbs :: Nick Vujicic

This most inspiring book tells the story of Nick Vujicic learning to adapt to life without any limbs.  He has one tiny little foot. Can you even imagine that? I know that I can’t. Nick has found great happiness in life (more than most people), by accepting himself the way he was born and learning to use all of his God-given talents to help others. I haven’t finished it yet but I couldn’t wait to share it with you. This is one book I want to buy for all of my friends and relatives.

Village Hero

There are still some heroes around!  If you take your time to help an animal that is in distress then you are a hero.  A few nights ago a man heard a dog yelping desperately in the distance.  It was late in the evening and bitterly cold outside but this wonderful man took the time to go out and see what might be wrong.  He had to go quite a ways into the but he found a dog stuck up to its face in the mud and water of a freezing creek.  Emergency crews had to be called in to help remove the dog.  unbeknownst to them all at the time was the fact that this poor creature was blind and deaf. My heart sings with joy that this man was kind enough to take the time and go see what some yelping in the distance was about.  He was willing to be an instrument of God.  How many of us are willing to take time to notice what is really going on around us and step out of our selflessness to help another in distress?  We all need to slow down and be willing to listen and then respond if the call comes.  It takes a village to raise all of us.
