ModernArt 2 Photoshop Action

This is a really fun Photoshop action! I purchased it from Envato Market for six dollars. Worth every penny. There is no end to the unique and interesting changes you can make to a photograph.

It takes a few tries to get the feel of it and this is one of my first.

You make a new layer and name it brush. Then using red or green you brush over the photo, in particular the part you want to have the special effects, then run the action and voila! Magic.

I Have The Best Daughter In The World!

I say that I have the best daughter in the world because she is always willing to help out an animal in need. Many times she goes above and beyond to help them.

Tonight we drove by an area where a house was torn down that used to have a lot of cats running around and sleeping on the porch. The house was torn down a few weeks ago and I stupidly thought that whoever had lived there must have made arrangements for the cats. Whether it was the person who used to live there or the person in charge of that person or whoever, they did not. We discovered the cats there this evening. She drove right to the store and bought cat food and a water bowl for them.

We went back and they all ran into the woods that surround the house. To our surprise we found that someone had been leaving food for them. Then we walked around behind a big tree into a nice little shaded spot and there was a lot of old empty food containers and cat food bags. It looked as if someone was trying to keep them fed and watered. We did wonder if a homeless person might have been staying there also. It was getting dark so we couldn’t really get a good look behind the hedge of trees and bushes.

Tomorrow I will call our No-Kill shelter and pray that they will for once have room for animal that I call about! At least we know they have enough food and some water.

So I have to say it again, I have the best daughter in the world! She is an animal hero.

Gorgeous and fun soap!

I found this fantastic looking soap from Saffrontradingcompany.com in the July/August issue of House Beautiful magazine. Isn’t this the coolest thing ever? It would be so beautiful in jars in an all white bathroom which by the way I would love to have.

Beauty from nature

This beautiful specimen is a Hackberry Emperor, Asterocampa celtis.
Family:Nymphalidae
Subfamily:Apaturnae

All of this time I thought this was a moth but I discovered it is instead a butterfly. I found all of my information on the site, Butterflies and Moths of North America.

Please donate if you can and pass the word along.

When you get to the part about the geese if you don’t cry or come close to it then you must not be human. I had no idea that geese were that way. It’s hearbreaking and heavenly at the same time. Thank God for these loving angels who helped these animals.

Casualty of the storm

This poor beautiful mother American Robin was found two doors down in my neighbor’s yard, on its last leg I might say. Poor thing it was so stressed and scared. It had a broken left leg and even sadder she had sat so desperately on the nest during the storm that she squashed her egg. I can just imagine her with her claws digging into the nesting material with all their little scrawny might. The wind howling and hail raining down her for a good solid 30 minutes. Maybe she had a heart attack and then was blown from the nest. We looked around and didn’t find an empty nest. Although I did quite unexpectedly find one in my yard today. At first I thought for sure it must have belonged to her but I don’t think so. That seems too far away and the wind was blowing the other direction. She wouldn’t have been out flying in that horrible mess. First here is the beautiful sweet American Robin who died in my hands. All I can think is at least it didn’t die being eaten by a cat.

I was so surprised when I found this nest today right outside my kitchen window. I am always looking out of this window how could I not have seen a bird building this. It’s large and very well made. I am so impressed with it. There has never been a nest in this clump of shrubs before it’s more like a landing ground in mid-flight. A little layover spot.

Smile Darla. No I don’t want too.

Look at what my grammie made me wear!
