I Give Up! The Dew

Well if this isn’t enough to scare the daylights out of someone I don’t know what is. Bad news for the Dew. Mountain Dew is the only way that I can ever have a normal day with a normal amount of energy. Coffee doesn’t work, tea doesn’t work. But since I now know that I have been drinking a flame retardant ingredient that is rather scary. Not to mention the other two bad things about it. I might as well say good-night and go to bed and never get up again.

Oh wait I forgot the one thing that really rocked my world and made for a beyond great day was Adderall. The side effects were not good at all though, so even though that was a far better solution than Mountain Dew that is out of the picture also. I give up.

Sometimes It’s Good To Complain

Sometimes if you complain loud enough and often enough you will get results even after being told no far too many times. When it involves someone’s welfare or an animal’s welfare it is well worth it. Yahoo! Finally I have gotten help for an animal that needed it! I kept hearing that everything was according to the law, well the law sucked so I told them so. Many, many times. Sorry I can’t say exactly what the problem was although I am sure those kind of people don’t even know how to use a computer let alone read a blog! Suffice it too say I am a happy complainer.

I understand the problem the school is facing but it can’t be any worse than what schools have ever faced before. There are too many other ways for a kid to bring in contraband. Banning boots in school is absurd and going too far. Next they will have to all wear the same plain jumpsuit just like in jail.

There are many beautiful high-heeled shoes. I think most of them are dangerous and a lot of women look stupid wearing them. There are some women who can pull it off and some high heels that are not killers. This isn’t one of them. Why would any woman want to do this to herself? Why hinder your movement? Why risk a broken leg which looks highly possible with these shoes? Why do woman fall for this nonsense?

The Lord Works In Mysterious Ways

We’ve all heard that before.

If you have Fibromyalgia don’t look a gift horse in the mouth. Today I was sitting around thinking I must have the winter blues as usual since I have been having a really difficult time this winter. I could care less if I leave the house and to tell the truth most days I will do anything within my power not to leave the house. So I was walking around the house discussing this matter with God and or myself. Then I decided to drink a Mountian Dew. Then one after another I started cleaning the house and doing chores. I was quite surprised at what I was able to accomplish.

Often times I think I will not drink any more Mountain Dew as we know how bad it is for us. But it seems to be my only recourse for looking alive. I tried coffee, green tea, water etc. Nothing else works. I have eaten a lot of vegetables lately. I tend to mostly eat whole wheat. So it comes down to I have to do whatever it takes to get through the day. If it has to be Mountain Dew then thank you Lord for the Mountain Dew!

And for you scoffers of Mountain Dew, no I have not always drank it, so no it is not the cause of the problem by any means. I only drank water for many years.

Chocolate Meringue

I found the recipe in the book, Cake Love by Warren Brown. You know I don’t like to cook or bake but once in a while I do attempt it. This was one of those times. The interesting thing that I learned from his was the fact that meringues should be cooked quickly at 335 F. rather than slower at 2 to 3 hours. He said that he doesn’t like the texture that they are normally when cooked slower. They are supposed to look like cracked Hershey Kisses only lighter in color. So in spite of mine not looking like that I knew they tasted right according to his description. I think they would be fun to make as decorations for cakes since they can be made into many different shapes, as long as that works out that is. Here you can see my little flat one.

How Not To Use Your Gun

This is a prime example of overzealous gun use and the wrong thing to do.

Don’t go roaming around the house looking for the burglars when you realize they are there and then shoot them. Hide and call the police. If the police don’t make it too you in time and the burglars discover you then shoot them. In this instance the neighbor who saw the burglars in his neighbor’s house should have called 911 to report it first then called the neighbor to let him know to hide. But I guess most men don’t like the idea of hiding. Or maybe he was previously a soldier so it wouldn’t be in his nature to hide. I will give him the benefit of the doubt on that one.

I Shot A Gun Today

I will let you guess whether or not I “liked” it.

I know that some of you are totally against guns and some of you have grown up around them so you are quite comfortable with them. Some of you live on farms and ranches so you are exposed to them in that way. We all have different opinions about them and even our own opinions will sometimes change from one side to the other.

Actually I shot three guns today. I have a favorite now.

The facility that I went to was very safe, the people extremely knowledgeable and careful. I was impressed. If I remember correctly two were previously police officers and one previously a marine or the other way around. Something like that.

Now I really don’t understand how anyone could shoot someone just for the hell of it. A burglar, thief, or rapist no problem but just an innocent person? You can not imagine the power within a gun until you shoot one.

This is not something I take lightly.

The young woman a few counties over who was run off of the road, kidnapped, raped and beat to death with a baseball bat would probably still be alive today if she had kept a gun in the glove compartment of her car.

The young woman who had just attended her husbands funeral and was home alone with her three month old baby is certainly glad that she had a gun and used it against the two men who were trying to break into her house.

I have many more thoughts on the matter but I don’t think I should write about them. This is a very intense experience.

It is something to at least think about and look into.

The Heart and the Fist

The Heart and the Fist by Eric Greitens is a most interesting and inspiring book. This guy is a great man among men. He has truly lived an adventurous, interesting and giving life.

He has traveled to many refugee camps helping out as much as possible. He was a Rhodes Scholar who became a Navy Seal. This is one good man.

His easy going style of writing makes one feel as if they are sitting down for coffee with a best friend whilst they tell the story of their charitable and unique world adventures.

This book would be a wonderful gift for an older teen interested in humanitarian work and to inspire those who aren’t moving in that direction or for any guy considering joining the Navy Seals Team.
